In this role, you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex Big-Data Cloud systems, contributing to all stages of back-end processing, analysis, and indexing. You will implement and test software components, resolve issues, and provide input on system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and COTS/GOTS integration. Working individually or on a team, you will leverage Cloud and Distributed Computing technologies to architect, debug, and manage multi-node installations while ensuring secure and efficient operations.


Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in Cloud computing, distributed systems, Big-Data architectures, and Information Retrieval (IR)
  • Proficiency with Java, Python, and object-oriented design
  • Experience with Hadoop ecosystem, MapReduce, HDFS, HBase, Cloud Big Table, and coordination frameworks (e.g., Zookeeper)
  • Experience in multi-node Cloud deployment, system debugging, and performance optimization
  • Knowledge of network operations, virtualization (VMware/VirtualBox), and information assurance practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in teams


Education/Experience:
12 yrs. software engineering experience in complex programs
B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline (Master or certifications may substitute for experience)
Minimum 4 yrs. with Big-Data Cloud technologies and distributed computing


Clearance:
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
